Many of the birds in Iceland are migratory, so the optimal birdwatching season runs from late April to early September. To ensure a personalized experience, it's recommended to send an email in advance, as every trip is unique.
Lárus Karl's Story
Lárus Karl Ingason was born in Reykjavik and developed a passion for photographing nature and wildlife from an early age. He later refined his skills at the Sven Winquist School of Photography in Sweden, and today he works as a professional photographer and guide. His love for guiding guests through Iceland’s diverse landscapes is evident, as he helps them capture perfect photographic angles. Some of his favorite locations include Thingvellir National Park, the south coast, and the Westfjords.
Lárus Karl has long been at the forefront of Icelandic photography, specializing in nature photography while also skillfully incorporating his talent for capturing light into advertising projects. His work has gained significant recognition, including commissions from the State Department, and he has accompanied the President of Iceland on official travels.
As an author, Lárus has published several books, each focusing on Iceland’s majestic landscapes. His works include Treasure of Icelandic Verse, which illustrates Icelandic poetry, the cookbooks Taste of Iceland and Chef Úlfar, and a trilogy on fly-fishing: Laxaflugur, Straumflugur, and Silungaflugur. His latest book, Mountain Rides on Icelandic Horses, documents his annual horseback riding trips with friends across Iceland’s highlands.
